| Northwestern’s Electronic
Dissertations Project
The Graduate School, with support from Information Technology and the
University Library, is in the process of conducting an extended electronic dissertations pilot project, to create mechanisms for
NU doctoral students to submit their dissertations in electronic form and for the University to archive them in that form. The
project has developed specifications for the format of electronic dissertations, drafted new standards for Northwestern dissertations
in electronic form, and provided grad student workshops to familiarize dissertation authors with the software techniques involved.
Michelle Citron, Associate Dean of the Graduate School, will show online some of the results of the pilot's efforts so far, and lead
discussion on the many aspects of the dissertation process affected by changes in technology.
