Vesalius Project released: Book One published online March 19, 2003

The first book of a new translation of Andreas Vesalius' 16th Century anatomy text, De Humani Corporis Fabrica, has been made available online at http://vesalius.northwestern.edu.

Northwestern University Classics professor Daniel Garrison and Feinberg School of Medicine professor emeritus Malcolm Hast have been working on the Fabrica translation for more than ten years.

Dan Garrison approached staff at the 2East open house early in 2001 to discuss his project. At that time, he was interested in building a web site to highlight the progress of the translation and to serve as kind of a sampler.
