SAGE QUANTITATIVE APPLICATIONS IN THE SOCIAL SCIENCES SERIES
NOW AVAILABLE IN ELECTRONIC BOOK FORMAT

Northwestern University Library has acquired the entire set of 129 titles in the Sage Quantitative Applications in the Social Sciences series in electronic book format through netLibrary. The content of each book is linked to its record in the library’s online catalog NUCat, enabling all NU faculty members and students to search and read the text of these manuals from dormitory, office, home, and “on the road” 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Digital Media Services - Highlights from the Year
As we wrap up the end of the academic year I thought I'd share some of the activities that have taken place at Digital Media Services that may enlighten and inspire you for next Fall. Beyond the day to day digitization of video, audio, and images (also quite a lot text scanning going on as well!), there have been some very interesting work by both individuals and departments that I'd thought I share with you.

Zounds! Xipolis !
Whether it is biographical information about the German writer Christa Wolf, a detailed explanation of the complex physics governing the flight of a Zeppelin, or an authoritative definition of one of those long German words like Vergangenheitsbewältigung, researchers and students at Northwestern University now belong to an elite group of twelve American universities, members of the AAU/ARL German Resources Project (GRP), which has access to the xipolis (Say “zip-o-lis”) suite of online reference databases.
